Week one Start Em Sit Em is up. You can always follow us on the twitter @The_Roundtable for the latest.
With a couple of old timers (for RBs) in front of him, Redskin Keiland Williams could be considered a Deep, deep, deep triple secret sleeper.
No one in the always objective Dallas media thinks they Cowboys will win fewer than 10 games. Our official prediction: 8 wins, maybe 9, depending on how bad the Eagles turn out to be.
Anthony Gonzalez is set to be the “interchangeable back-up” behind Wayne, Garcon and Collie (throw Clark in there for good measure). He’s owned in maybe half of fantasy leagues; at this point he’s dead weight, make him your first roster cut.
The Vikings are having all kinds of problems at CB. Look for some fantasy love further down the WR pecking order for Henderson and Meacham as they face the otherwise second and third teamers.
MJD is upset he dropped in fantasy drafts.
Ever been fixed up and told the person had a “good personality”? Never works out, does it?
Speaking of the stupid Lions; ESPN/ABC slaps the State of Michigan in the face assigning Matt Millen to the Michigan/UConn game. Haven’t we suffered enough?

Ahmad Bradshaw is now more or less the Giants starting RB. Unclear what that’s supposed to mean; Bradshaw got 42% of the carries to Jacobs 58%, even if that flips Bradshaw is at best a bottom #2 RB for your fantasy team due to inconsistent fantasy numbers.
For better or for worse, Sam Bradford is the Rams opening day starter.
Carolina and Cincinnati scribes make the case to sign TJ Houshmandzadeh. Minnesota says no thanks.
Pass protection “..is a concern” for the Bears; not good in the Martz system that is designed to get the QB killed.
Peyton Hills “…will get time” but it sounds like Jerome Harrison will move up and get workman-back-like carries. Our recommendation here is platoon Harrison; start em against crap run D’s, sit em against good D’s.
Neil Rackers gets the kicking job in Houston over Kris Brown; Derrick Ward signed with the Texans.
Sounds like Patrick Crayton’s ceiling will be the #2 WR in the San Diego offense. Traditionally this is a 40 catch/550 yard fantasy output, not enough to warrant a roster spot; Vincent Jackson could be on the way to the Rams.
Fantasy insight from the legitimate media: Q & A with the Denver Post’s fantasy football guy. NOLA breaks down Saints fantasy prospects.
We've been searching the internet all day, with no luck. If anyone finds video of this Lingerie Football League fight, please, please, please pass it on.
9/2/2010
Seattle may be looking to deal TJ Houshmandzadeh. This would be huge as they really don’t have any other receivers. Lions draft mistake Mike Williams must be ready for prime time.
Kicker beat: Still up in the air who will kick in Houston. Whoever gets the call is a worthy fantasy starter; Texans were a top ten scoring offense last year, and should be again in 2010.
Patrick Crayton may or may not be out of Dallas.
The Denver Post makes a good case that the Denver running game is gonna be pretty bad.
More problems for Montario Hardesty and his knees. We’d prefer readers stay away from this dude; bad knees, bad team.
Adrian Peterson could get even more action if he steps into the third down role vacated by Chester Taylor.
Oakland’s going to find ways to find Zack Miller in the end zone.
The Philadelphia Daily News has a fantasy football guide.
Jason Taylor admits to drunken infomercial shopping and makes other off color remarks.
8/30/2010
Here’s what we saw on the back half of week three. According to our Roundtable Manifeto, it's OK to draft now. Don’t forget to follow us on the Twitter for more updates @The_Roundtable.
Lions 35, Cleveland 27
Jahvid Best bused a long run on his one carry; he’s locked up the starting job and will contribute at least 65% of the RB offensive production. Kevin Smith is looking at the third string if he makes the cut at all; avoid completely in your fantasy football draft.
Can three solid performances by the Browns offense be a fluke? Josh Cribbs got some catches with the first teamers, could be a sleeper at WR, especially if you get points for return yardage/TDs. Also of note; Seneca Wallace took a snap out of the pistol formation, wouldn’t be surprised to see Cribbs in the package eventually either.
Buffalo 35, Cincinnati 20
The Bills first string offense has put up five TDs in the last two games. Could Troy Edwards be decent? Maybe if you’re stretching for a back-up QB. C.J. Spiller benefits with the injuries to Jackson and Lynch; on the down side, when they’re not playing in the preseason, fantasy owners can’t get a feel for how the RB rotation would work.
The Bengals showed off the no huddle with Jordan Shipley getting the run as the third WR; guess dude won the gig, the Bengals cut Antonio Bryant after the game.
Baltimore 24, Giants 10
The Ravens worked on their no huddle; scored on the first three possessions then went punt, INT to finish the first. Sure as hell worked from a fantasy perspective. In the first half; Flacco had 220 yards, Boldin, Mason and Heap saw a lot of action. Could Heap be a sleeper TE pick? If Flacco gets to 4,000 yards, Heap could inch up to starter TE level.
Jacobs and Bradshaw both got run with the first team. Like last year, this will continue to be as close to a 50/50 RB split as you’ll see in the league
Minnesota 24, Seattle 13
We’re adding Lion draft bust Mike Williams to our list of Double Secret Sleeper list; says here he’s the “…team’s most dangerous split end.”
Houston 23 Dallas 7
I’ll put this in caps. DRAFT ARIAN FOSTER.
Sooo. When is the Dallas offense going to get a touchdown and is “not ready for prime time”. Worried about any of their fantasy players.
Arizona 14, Chicago 9
That there’s a conversation between Matt Leinart and Derek Anderson shows that Leinart has filed. This guy has been groomed for the position for four years, takes the keys for an offense that’s two years removed from a Super Bowl. The biggest fantasy loser will be Larry Fitz, looks for his numbers to suffer, whoever the QB is.
The Bears are just not getting the Martz offense; can’t count on any, ANY of these guys from a fantasy perspective.
San Francisco 28, Oakland 24
All is rosy for the Niners. The Raiders lost the pre-season-injury-lottery with Campbell, Bush and Schilens getting knocks.
Denver 34, Pittsburgh 17
Brandon Lloyd won this week’s who’s-gonna-get-the-receptions-in-Denver race. As of week three, our official position is that Lloyd and Gaffney will be around 900/6 with Royal picking up a little less than that.
Pittsburgh proved they’re going to struggle without Roethlisberger; could drop fantasy draft value of Wallace, Ward and Mendenhall a round or two.
8/28/2010
Here’s what we’ve seen so far in the all critical preseason week three. .
St Louis 36, New England 35
Donnie Avery goes down for the season. OC Pat Shurmur’s offense is from the Eagles tree; the tree that very rarely produces 1,000 yard receivers unless you’re TO, DeSean Jackson or 2007 Kevin Curtis rolling up 221 yards against the suck Lions. The 2008 Eagles had five WR/TEs in the 35 reception/375 yard neighborhood; and without a DeSean Jackson-like deep threat, figure Laurent Robinson and Brandon Gibson to be on the high side of that and not relly worth a fantasy roster spot.
The Rams had their way with the Pats first team defense; that’s the Rams with a rook QB and their star RB only playing the first series. If this keeps up we might see NE in shoot-outs, raising the water level for all Pats fantasy players.
Green Bay 59, Indinapolis 24
The roster's set and we know the fantasy players in Green Bay. The only question is who will punt, the one or two times a game the Pack offense doesn’t find the end zone.
Umpires mess stuff up all the time; now look for teams that run the no huddle to get screwed by the new positioning of the Umpire, moving from the defensive side of the ball to behind the offense. This will probably affect the Colts the most, could it be a complete buzz kill? Maybe, Manning got 2 false start penalties for snapping before the Umpire was set. Also, we’re surprised that Joe Addai got as much PT as he did with the first team, we figured Donald Brown would be getting more reps.
Atlanta 16, Miami 6
Atlanta scribes don’t seem to be too worried about the Atlanta offense.
In Miami, they’re rightfully worried about Chad Henne’s performance. But we really like how Henne targeted Brandon Marshall eight times in the first half. Feels like Miami will use their new weapon.
Washington 16, Jets 11
Can't take too much away from the Redskins performance as McNabb sat. Willie Parker got the run with the first teamers an only averaged 2.0 yards on eight carries; gotta think he won’t make the RB rotation or get cut. Larry Johnson did ok with the second team, but we still think Clinton Portis will get most of the run and is going three or four rounds too late in fantasy drafts.
LT looked strong averaging 7.8 yards on 11 carries. Get used to this offense from the Jets, control clock, run the ball. Shonn Green is a solid fantasy play and maybe LT can contribute to your fantasy team. Bad news of cogs in the Jets passing game; expect Sanchez, Edwards et al to be marginal fantasy players.
Philadelphia 20, Kansas City 17
Jamaal Charles started for the first time in the preseason and fumbled on his first carry. Nice. Dexter McCluster’s showing he deserves some time in the RB rotation; and if you get points for return TDs in yourr league, he could be considered a double secret sleeper.
Kevin Kolb ended with a pretty poor game. We don’t like how he’s getting drated as a fatnasy starter in a lot of leagues. Too high for a guy that’s yet to prove himself.
New Orleans 36, San Diego 21
No reason to think the Saints offense won’t pick up where they left off last year.
We’ve been driving the Ryan Matthews band wagon since the draft; really don’t like that Jacob Hester got the TD carry from inside the ten yard line. Malcom Floyd had the ball thown his way eight times & Vincent Jackson said this week he’s prepared to sit out the whole season. We moved Floyd way up our WR draft board.
8/26/2010
No updates recently as we’ve had router/modem/USB port-whatever problems. Could we have picked a worst time to have computer issues than the heart of the fantasy football pre-season? Don’t forget to follow us on the Twitter for more updates @The_Roundtable.
Sleeper: Can’t figure out why Clinton Portis is going so low in fantasy drafts. Larry Johnson is over, Willie Parker is over. Portis isn’t 30 years-old yet and the Redskin offense will show life with McNabb.
Super Sleeper: Watch who gets out there as Denver’s #1 WR Sunday against the Steelers. Jabar Gaffney’s got a ton of play the first two preseason games and is nowhere in most drafts. You can probably get him now in the last round; could turn into a 1,000+ yard receiver if he’s the main guy.
Double secret sleeper: Derrick Ward is paying himself out of a gig; look for Kareem Huggins to get some play in Tampa.
Matt Leinart sucks and he’s going to hurt Larry Fitz’s fantasy numbers.
The Ravens fight song is the same as the old (Baltimore) Colts song. Kinda catchy.
The Bills to expand their use of the Wildcat; how much they use it will “depend on game situations and available personnel.” Fred Jackson got a few snaps last year and threw a TD pass. C.J. Spiller could be in there as well.
The Bears line stinks. Bad, but even worse in a Martz offense. Cutler could be killed.
Official, at least according to this article, Jahvid Best is the Lion’s starting RB.
Owen Daniels is our #1 TE; no one else really agrees. Good for you. He’ll be resuming full workouts before the fourth preseason game. Once he’s back to full speed, he’s the Texans #2 receiving option.
“Young players” and “secondary” are rarely a good combination. Look for Chiefs D to struggle against the pass this year.
Chaz Schilens goes under the knife and could miss the season opener. If you’re a Raiders believer, you may want to look at Louis Murphy.
Ladd Biro’s fantasy football rankings.
8/22/2010
Here are our inner most thoughts and feelings about pre-season round two.
Buffalo 34, Indianapolis 21
C.J. Spiller found himself in the spotlight with injuries to Jackson and Lynch. Had some solid runs including a 31 yard touchdown. Too soon though to assume that he’ll be a consistent fantasy player with so many others in the backfield.
New England 28, Atlanta 10
The Pats are really going to rotate though all four RB, making all of them worthless for fantasy football. They also completed nine passes to TEs; there was a time when the TE in Belichick’s offense was a 600 yard/5 TD position; keep your eye on rooks Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski.
The Falcons didn’t put a game plan together for this game and it showed; their offense sputtered.
Cincinnati 22, Eagles 9
Palmer dropped some bombs to Ochocinco and TO; real story in the passing game is rook TE Jermaine Gresham. Dude was targeted four times while the starters were on the field. That’s the mother lode for a Bengal offense that hasn’t historically utilized the position.
The Eagles continue to throw the ball around in the red zone. 7 out of 8 first team plays inside the 25 were passes; good for Jackson, Kolb and Celek’s fantasy touchdown output, bad for LeSean McCoy.
Pittsburgh 27, Giants 17
Roethlisberger played and was put up decent numbers. Leftwitch dropped a bomb to Mike Wallace, but otherwise was a fantasy disappointment.
The Giants third string QB went the whole way, can’t take too much away from any fantast performers.
Baltimore 23, Washington 3
The Ravens have been working on the Wildcat in practice, but didn’t give it a try; Dante Stallworth got three balls thrown his way with the first team.
Larry Johnson stunk; possibly throwing a wrench in the Redskin’s RB by committee plan.
St Louis 19 Cleveland 17
Bradford failed to move the Ram offense; could be a tough year for Steven Jackson.
The Browns offense didn’t look like the juggernaut as it did in pre-season week one but Josh Cribbs got six balls thrown his way in the first half; maybe he can end up more than just a slash-type offensive weapon.
Tampa Bay 20, Kansas City 15
Josh Freeman broke his thumb; but seriously, there’s no one to consider here for any fantasy output.
Thomas Jones continues to start for KC. The defense looks like a fantasy who-do-I-start-tie-breaker; so bad that when you have a start em sit em decision to make, the dude going against KC D should get the nod.
Miami 27, Jacksonville 26
With Henne in the game, Miami threw the ball 16 out of 27 plays; a much larger average than last year.
Nothing new from the Jags, but there another team that will struggle on defense.
New Orleans 38, Houston 20
Steve Slayton fumbled his way out of any major fantasy production; he didn’t get a sniff until the second teamers came in and he’s running back kick-offs, not usually the job of a first teamer. Assume that Arian Foster will be the main RB.
The Saints are the Saints. So many weapons, they could have 2 RBs, 3 WRs and 2 TE on fantasy rosters.
Jets 9, Carolina 3
Thanksgiving came early for Panther fans that had to pay full season ticket price for this turkey. Can’t take any fantasy knowledge out of this one other than the Jets are not as good as the New York-biased sport media will have you think.
Oakland 32, Chicago 17
The Raiders offense didn’t look bad as Michael Bush continues to stake claim as the #1 RB option. We don’t like that Jason Campbell wasn’t able to do much with the deep ball, an issue he had in Washington.
As QBs get rocked in Mike Martz’s offense; Cutler was sacked 5 times in the first half. Matt Forte busted a big run, but Chester Taylor was a part of the action with the first team getting four touches to Forte’s five. Figure Forte to get 60% of the RB numbers – at best.
Lions 25, Denver 20
Are the Lions shaping up to be a professional football franchise? We’ll hold judgment; they went 4-0 in 2008’s preseason then lost 18 straight regular season games. The coaching staff seems to have figured out when you have a 6-5 freak of nature at WR you should throw him jump balls in the end zone against 5-10 cornerbacks.
Looks like Jabar Gaffney’s going to be the #1 WR for the Broncos; he’s been targeted 12 times in three quarters of preseason football.
Dallas 16 San Diego 14
The Dallas first team offense scored their first TD after being shut down the first two preseason games; but the Dallas writers still need to be talked off the ledge.
No reason to think Ryan Matthews won’t get 250-300 touches in the Chrages offense; 12 carries for 53 yards in a preseason game?
Green Bay 27, Seattle 24
The Green Bay offense rolled as expected with the first teamers only playing the first quarter; defense was an issue, apparently still running a vanilla scheme; but this is the second week in a row where a sub-par offense rolled up numbers.
Seattle didn’t look bad; Leon Washington ran with the first teamers; Julius Jones entering in the second half.
8/17/2010
Zack Miller was Oakland’s main receiving threat last year; says here that they’re going to get him the ball more. 66 receptions/805 yards were nice in 2009, but he’ll have to improve on last year’s 3 TDs.
In the first kicker beat of the season: the Falcons go with Matt Bryant over our favorite neuroscience major Steve Hauschka. Ok maybe our second favorite.
Baltimore give the Wildcat a spin, oddly with Ray Rice and Willis McGahee at the helm rather than college spread QB Troy Smith.
Mike Martz hates using tight ends in his offense, yet was a tight end himself. We’d like to hear any thoughts from the psychoanalysts in the audience.
Does Larry Fitzgerald’s knee injury hurt his draft status? We think Matt Leinart hurts it more.
The Niners signed Brian Westbrook to replace Glen Coffee. No fantasy value outside of Frank Gore’s handcuff.
As you read here, Raheem Morris called out Derrick Ward for suck play in the exhibition opener. Today, Ward apologized, but further blamed mud. Weak.
Fantasy thoughts from legit newspapers. (New Orleans Times-Picayune; Ladd Biro via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette).
Like most of us (Carolina) Steve Smith doesn’t like chumps.
8/15/2010
Don’t forget to follow us on the Twitter for more updates @The_Roundtable.
Dolphins 10, Buccaneers 7
Another pre-season performance hindered by rain (before you go making excuses, remember that there is the possibility of inclement weather in the regular season). Everybody’s “sleeper” pick Chad Henne had passes going off receiver’s hands. Don’t know if this is indicative of a shift to a more aerial attack, or just trying to get work against a live defense; but the first team Dolphin offense threw eleven passes against five rushes & four passes out of seven first down plays.
The story from the Bucs side was the poor performance of Derrick Ward. Claims he had a tough time with the baseball infield, but HC Raheem Morris kind of calls out his mental toughness.
Pittsburgh 23, Lions 7
In another rain soaked game, Lions rook RB Jahvid Best started and impressed. After 53 years of Lion-stink, we might consider drafting this guy.
Roethlisberger didn’t start and the owner suggested return to the running game yielded two yards on five carries for Rashard Mendenhall, including a negative five yard effort in the red zone.
Cleveland 27, Green Bay 24
Cleveland drove the ball 80 yards on the opening drive against the Pack’s first teamers with Delhomme rolling up a 6/7, 66 yards. Not enough yet to get us excited for any Browns fantasy chances: Harrison as a key fantasy RB, Delhomme as a back-up QB, but the offense wasn’t pathetic, which is what one would have expected.
We know the Packers can score, so Aaron Rodgers' 12/13 159 yard, TD performance was what you’d look for out of an elite fantasy QB. The story out of Green Bay was the performance of the defense; they’re claiming they went vanilla with the blitzes and coverage. But they made Delhomme look like an all-pro candidate on that first drive; really no excuse for that.
Minnesota 28, St Louis 7
Can’t take much out of this one from the Vikings side playing without Favre, Shiancoe, Harvin, Rice and AP. Tarvaris Jackson only took six snaps.
Eyes were on #1 draft pick Sam Bradford’s debut. His stat line stunk and he spent a good amount of time on his rear end. For any non-dynasty leaguers considering Bradford, forget it, there’s too little of a supporting cast around him.
Arizona 19, Houston 16
Houston’s offense rolled as expected; but likely lost Rook RB Ben Tate for the season. Yet another lesson on why you don’t do a fantasy draft until after the third preseason game. We’ll guess Arian Foster will emerge as the #1 guy for the Texans; Steve Slayton, who was pulled last year due to the fumbles, fumbled at the goal line.
We’re not high on Matt Leinart, and he’s not doing anything that would change our minds.
San Diego 25, Chicago 10
Ryan Matthews left no doubt that he’s going to get the bulk of the carries for the Chargers; but we don’t like that Mike Tolbert was the man when it came time for a goal line carry.
A lot of fantasy players are underestimating the Bears WRs. The Mike Martz offense doesn’t use the TEs at all in the passing game. In his Bears debut; WR were targeted 14 times, TEs and RBs only six.
Seattle 20, Tennessee 18
Back-up QB Charlie Whitehurst was the star; but the waiver wire is full of dudes that had great preseason games. Telling for us was that Julius Jones started and played with the first team. Justin Forsett ran with the second squad.
Vince Young ran a strong opening drive but then fumbled and was intercepted on consecutive plays. Chris Johnson will not be able to carry the load like he did last season, Javon Ringer looked strong and is likely being groomed to cut into some of Johnson rushing action.
8/14/2010
Observation is the key to knowledge; here’s what we’ve seen in the first group of pre-season games.
Atlanta 20, Kansas City 10
The Falcons “want to establish (Michael) Turner…as a receiving threat”. And did so apparently by throwing him a pass on the first drive of Friday’s exhibition game. One pass. Turner had five receptions last year. Five. There are only so many receptions out there for an offense on any given Sunday; after the #1 WR gets his, the RB, TE and/or #2 WR get the balance of the rest. HC Mike Smith’s scheme got the ball to #2 WR Michael Jenkins 50 times each of the last two years; they’ve got TE Tony Gonzalez, he’ll get his 80 catches again. So not much left for the RB corps. If Jenkins misses the first couple weeks with his shoulder injury, Turner may sneak a couple receptions, but after that, don’t count on a big receiving year.
The Chiefs generally stunk on both sides of the ball. Of note, Thomas Jones played only the first series, as many starting RB do in the first preseason game.
Washington 42, Buffalo 17
McNabb looked solid in his Redskin debut. Three of his five completions were to Chris Cooley, who we’re pegging for a big year.
The Bills had nothing on offense and lost Fred Jackson for the rest of the preseason. Shout out for the Detroiters in the audience, Wayne Stater and Harlon Hill Trophy winner Joique Bell rolled a sweet TD run, he will be our last draft pick.
Philadelphia 28, Jacksonville 27
Kevin Kolb is OK, but not great, we’re sill confident in his #19 ranking on our pre-season 100% Correct Quarterback Rankings.
The Jags first unit offense looked bad and Mike Sims-Walker injured his shoulder.
Oakland 16, Dallas 9
Michael Bush and Rock Cartwright showed the Raiders running game had some life, but Jason Campbell couldn’t hit the deep ball or convert on a couple of key short passes.
The Cowboys haven’t scored an offensive touchdown in their first two preseason games and the Dallas press is beside themselves, which is always fun.
Baltimore 17, Carolina 12
Joe Flacco and the rest of the Ravens first team offense was sharp. For the fantasy player, the ball was spread around with Clayton, McGahee, Mason, Boldin and McClain getting some action with the first team. As with last year, outside of Ray Rice expect the Baltimore fantasy players to have ups and downs.
According to the Charlotte paper’s 10 Thoughts from the Panthers’ First Preseason Game; the Panthers offense didn’t score because it was raining.
New England 27, New Orleans 24
Julian Edelman was the fantasy star for the Pats. Usually takes two years for a dude to come back from an ACL. We’re at 7 1/2 months for Wes Welker. We expect Edelman to come though as a solid fantasy performer.
The Saints were “sloppy”, but we’re not worried.
8/11/2010
No real reason Rook WR Brandon LaFell can’t start in Carolina. Only other vet on the roster to compete for the spot on the other side of Steve Smith is Dwayne Jarrett. LaFell will likely go undrafted in most leagues; unfortunately the #2 WR in Carolina’s offense is a hit-or-miss proposition. Best seasons on recent memory were Keyshawn Johnson 70/815/4 in 2006 & Mushin Muhammad’s 65/923/5 in 2008; but we’d figure even if LaFell starts, yer looking at Muhammad’s 53/581/1 in 2009 or Drew Carter’s 38/517/4 in 2007.
Thomas Jones is listed ahead of Jamaal Charles on the KC depth chart.
Legitimate newspapers get into the fantasy season. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, New Orleans Times-Picayune)
8/10/2010
Charlie Weis is molding Matt Cassel. We have listed as our #25 quarterback; but it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if he got picked up in a lot of leagues by mid-season. May be worth a late rounder if you have roster room for a third QB.
This dude predicts that Fred Davis will lead the Redskins in TD catches.
Brian Hartline gets the starting WR nod on the other side of Brandon Marshall.
Former Lion draft error Mike Williams “is the wild card” in Seattle’s WR situation.
DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin were in a spat.
Ahmad Bradshaw may have pulled ahead of Brandon Jacobs.
8/8/2010
We think this year Jermichael Finley will emerge as a top 5 TE. Has the skills, and in his third season is developing into a cog in the offense.
Matt Leinart “…keep(s) missing on deep passes to Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston” (Arizona Republic). The Cards only had three passing plays greater than 40 yards last year; so not a big part of the offense, but throwing deep was allegedly one of Leinart’s strengths coming out of college. If he can’t get this together, Arizona may be in trouble.
Some word from our blogger buddies:
Fantasy Fools think you have to draft Chris Johnson #1.
We agree with one of Fantasy Football MBA’s undervalued QBs.
IDP Guru ranks Linebackers so we don’t have too.
Gotta say; Miami HC Tony Sparano’s trading camp slogan; kinda lame. Snorg must have been out-of-stock on his first choice. And his second.
8/7/2010
If Stephens-Howling gets a little more, gotta figure Benie Wells gets a little less.
C.J Spiller makes it to camp. I’d like to see one of those sabermetric dudes get on how much missing time at camp affects a fantasy footballer’s season.
Before you start thinking Floyd or Naanee are going to slip right into Vincent Jackson’s 68/1167/9; The Chargers signed Randy McMichael in the off season and are looking to use a lot of 3-TE formations.
If St Louis is going to be hopeless this year with or without Sam Bradford; there may be 19 million reasons why he sees less than 35% of the Rams offensive snaps.
Read all about Terrell Suggs’ diet plan. Surprisingly Popeye’s chicken and cookies are verboten.
Sounds like Maurice Stoval and Mike Williams are your starting WRs in Tampa Bay.
Some zoo looking for publicity tried to get a squid to predict Favre’s future, like that world cup squid. Fail.
8/3/2010
Whatever’s going on with Farve right now; we like the term “fluid situation”. Figure if he doesn’t come back: Tavaris Jackson’s a non-factor as a fantasy QB; Sidney Rice drops to #25-30 on the wide receiver list; Percy Harvin into the low 30s-high 40s. Vinsanthe Shiancoe drops to back-up tight end status. We’ll change all our pre-season ranking when everything’s official.
Don’t like that Jamal Charles sayz he didn’t have enough time for off season conditioning
Eddie Royal and Jabar Gaffney are getting the most reps in Denver; followed by Brandon Lloyd and Matt Willis. #1 pick WR DeMaryius Thomas a man of few words; not much to say about this, or anything else on twitter.
We got two out of ten right on the T.O. quiz. That’s two too many.
Lions OC Scott Linehan talks about how he likes one RB getting most of the carries. With Kevin Smith coming back from an ACL, rook Jahvid Best could be the man.
Bucs go to a “hot running back” approach. Fantasy owners ask, why not just the give-the-ball-to-one-dude-20-times-a-game approach.
Some dude tells you to avoid some other dudes on fantasy draft day; only of note because this is from nfl.com, might have some inside information.
